Over the next year or so I will be documenting the renovation of the old Harvey’s Depot in the centre of Lewes as it becomes the Depot, our new independent community cinema.
The builders moved in to the Lewes Depot Cinema site a week ago, so it was time for me to see the start of the demolition. There were only four or five workers on site, so it was relatively quiet. I found bright September light casting strong shadows and new wavy blue lines and red X’s marked throughout the building. There was something cinematic to me about the drama of these lines and light.
