The Depot Cinema, Lewes: start of a new project

Posted by carlotta on Thursday July 2nd, 2015 at 8:31am

I am always pleased when I have a project on the go and especially happy when I am at the beginning of one. And that is where I am at the moment. A couple of days ago was my first of many shoots at The Depot in the centre of Lewes. Work will be starting soon to change this disused building into our very own independent community cinema.

At the moment, the inside of the building shows remnants of its light industrial past as the depot for our local brewery, Harvey and Sons. Layered on top of that are paintings, drawings and colourful decorations from various events and parties held here over the past few years. The sky lights and high barn doors create some beautiful shadows and pools of light throughout the large empty rooms. I have photographed here twice before, the first time for a group portrait session and again last summer for a mini fundraising festival.

All the photos from this shoot can be found here.
