photo of the week: school photography

Posted by carlotta on Friday March 31st, 2017 at 8:01am

School photography: recently I have been working with several local schools on their marketing photographs. Recording the enthusiasm and engagement of children makes for a fulfilling day’s work and is a nice change from my architectural projects. My aim is to capture the essence of everyday school life, avoiding the usual ‘slick’ marketing shots. My most recent job was at the small independent Lewes New School, where active participation in learning is a strong component of the curriculum. This pizza-making workshop is one of a variety of Wednesday afternoon activities and is definitely hands-on education. All photos from this shoot can be found here.

If you have not yet had a chance to see my exhibit of Southover Grange photos at Pelham House in Lewes, the show has been extended for an additional 6 weeks so you have until the 23 May to catch it.
