Jane and Michael’s intimate family wedding

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Jane and Michael’s intimate family wedding. The bride arrived at Lewes Town Hall in an open top vintage car – the last minute offer of a lift by a complete stranger when the booked taxi didn’t show. This unexpected form of transport took everyone by surprise, not least the bride herself. After the ceremony we took photographs in the picturesque Grange Gardens before returning to Pelham House Hotel. Here, the beautiful panelled dining room was set with one long table for a family wedding breakfast. In the evening, the bride transformed this same room into a cosy club, lit entirely by candles, with games and silly masks on the tables. It was a wonderful day during which I was swept along by the loving relationships within this small family wedding and the obvious joy of the bridal couple.
