Garland Day in Lewes is an annual celebration of the arrival of spring, organised by the female Morris dancers The Knots of May. Dozens of local children participate in a garland competition by donning flowers and wreaths of greenery and parading down the High Street alongside the Morris Dancers, both female and male (The Long Man Morris Men). Amazingly, the rain seemed to have little effect on the high spirits of the day. Personally, I quite liked the wet weather because it intensified the colours and gave a beautiful reflective sheen to the road. More information about this shoot can be found here.
