photo of the week: Remembrance Sunday

Posted by carlotta on Friday November 13th, 2015 at 7:26am

The Lewes District Council asked me to photograph the Remembrance Service in Lewes last Sunday. The first to arrive for the ceremony were four Sea Cadets who were placed as sentinels around the War Memorial. For nearly an hour they stood stock-still, heads bowed, hands clenched by their sides. They somehow managed to never look up to watch what was going on around them. For me, there is something poignant about this boy who looks so young to be solemn and motionless and honouring fallen soldiers. More photos from this shoot can be found here.
