the Flemish Coast

I have just come back from a few days on the Belgian coast. Being early February it was bitter cold, very windy, deserted – and beautiful. The low winter sun threw raking shadows across the windswept beach until storm clouds appeared, giving the industrial port of Zeebrugge an ominous, threatening look in the distance.
