organic farming in the heart of a Sussex village

As part of the Market Year project, I went to visit Laine’s Organic Farm in Cuckfield, West Sussex. I was amazed to see thriving vegetable and fruit fields set just behind Holy Trinity Church, within a stone’s throw of the village centre. Toos Jeuken is the Dutch woman who, legend has it, arrived by bicycle 35 years ago, searching for land to farm. She found fertile fields aplenty and has been farming here ever since. More photos from this shoot can be found here.
