farming and lambing on Exmoor

Heading back to my husband’s roots on Exmoor last weekend coincided with lambing time. The sun shone warmly once the thick fog had lifted – it felt like Spring had arrived.¬†We missed seeing any lambs being born but we saw some that were just hours old. I always love the light in barns. There is never a lot of it but what there is tends to fall in interesting ways onto the animals, the spaces and the people as well.

As ever, the surrounding moorland landscape was spectacular, especially in the soft afternoon light. More photos from this shoot can be found here.
