some prestigious awards

I have just found out that one of the subjects of my local food project has received some very prestigious awards from the World’s Original Marmalade Competition in Cumbria. The two gold, one silver and one highly commended awards go to Ouse Valley Foods, founded and run by Julian Warrender. Julian and I have become friends over the course of my involvement with her company and I have found her integrity, creativity and drive a real inspiration to me. She, in turn, has put a huge amount of trust in me, and helped to open many doors, including introducing me to the owners of Glynde Place. One of the outcomes of these awards is that her marmalade will be for sale at Fortnum and Mason. Purveyors to the Queen, one can only hope that, for the Queen’s sake, Julian’s marmalade may one day grace the breakfast table at Buckingham Palace.
